Integrasi Pendidikan Formal dan Tradisi Keilmuan Islam dalam Pembentukan Karakter Religius Peserta Didik di SMA As Sahro

Education is not solely oriented toward academic achievement; it also plays a vital role in shaping students’religius character. Integrating formal education with Islamic scholarly traditions serves as a means to develop intellectual capabilites while simultaneously strengthening students’ spiritual and moral values. This study aims to describe the forms of integration between formal education and Islamic scholarly traditions and to analyze their contribution to shaping the religious character of students at SMA as-Sahro. A qualitative approach with a case study design was employed. Data where gathered thourgh observation,intervews,and documentation during a field experience program at the school.The findings indicate the this integration is realized through text based instruction covering subjects such as fiqih(Islamic jurisprudence), nahwu(syntax), shorof (morphology), Aswaja (ahlussunnah wal jama’ah doctrine), and arabic-as well as through a regular Qur’an memorization (tahfidz) program. The integration is further reinforced by a school culture that includes mujahadah (spiritual striving), communal prayer and the recitation of asmaul husna (the Beautiful names af Allah) prior to lessons. This integrated approach contributes to shaping students’ religius character by strengthening Islamic knowedge and fostering religious attitudes, discipline, responsibility, and the practice of religion in daily life. Thus,the integration of formal education and Islamic scholarly traditions at SMA As-Sahro demonstrates that combining a formal curriculum, Islamic instruction, and religious habituations can play a crucial role in shaping students’religious character in a more holistic manner.
